By Michael Smith Village Magazine (Ireland) October 19, 2012 Christine Todd Whitman was Governor of New Jersey from 1994 to 2001 and Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the administration of President George W Bush from 2001 to 2003. After several public conflicts with the Bush administration, Whitman resigned to spend more time with her family. In an interview in 2007 Whitman stated that Vice President Dick Cheney’s insistence on easing air pollution controls, not the personal reasons she cited at the time, led to her resignation. A moderate Republican, she chairs the Republican Leadership Council which promotes candidates who are “fiscally conservative, socially inclusive”. [...]

Letter: Romney backer would like to see Christie Whitman for VP
