What is the single biggest misconception people have about renewable energy in the U.S.? And why do you think they have this misconception?

CHRISTINE TODD WHITMAN: The biggest misconception is that renewable energy sources are always working. Solar power only works when the sun is shining and wind-generated power only works when the wind is blowing; it’s not a constant energy source.

Christine Todd Whitman was governor of New Jersey from 1994 to 2001 and administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency from 2001 to 2003. She is currently president of Whitman Strategy Group, a consulting firm that specializes in helping companies find solutions to environmental challenges.
