Christine Todd Whitman’s View From the Middle

Christine Todd Whitman knows well the view from the middle. A moderate Republican, Whitman was elected New Jersey’s first female governor in 1994. In 2001, she was appointed administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under President George W. Bush, but she left just two years later after conflicts with what she later described as a divisive political structure.
